A Good Looking Watch...

The Le Jour Monte Carlo is a great-looking watch and a very well-built one that oozes class and quality. The Selita sw-500 movement is a grade up from the original 7750 eta movement which is the original. ETA can no longer serve the watch world with ETA moving parts and companies like Selita who are an important cog and a major player in the swatch world now more than ever are the big players and a powerful replacement. Rolex and Omega and a few more apart who make their own movements and modifications don't need Selita as such but Le Jour and all the other mid watch companies are in fierce competition
because they all use and depend on Selita for movements and parts. The edge what any watch maker will want and need is the creative ability to be better and more appealing to a dwindling group of watch lovers who still love and care for watches in a changing world that isn't in need of a wrist-watch anymore. I still say Le Jour stands out from the rest of the competition but only marginal. Rado is making waves with the return of their flagship Dia-star and they have a fantastic arrival of the new Dia Star which are very nice watches which also have credence. Competition is stiff out there and what stood out for me with my particular pick of Le Jour and Chronograph is the colour scheme in a nice sea blue which i didn't see in the Dia-star. Saying that, i also purchased a nice new re-make in a beautiful sea green from Rado which is just as appealing like the Le-Jour. My friends question my sanity and mental state in buying and owning 14 and more mid range watches which add up to the price of a Rolex Sub which will have more of a sell on value much more than my Le Jour, Rado, Certina, and seiko's put together. My only answer and defence to this question is that wearing a Rolex will make me more nervous in this world today and besides, you wouldn't want to scratch and beat up a Rolex by wearing it. Thats what i tell my sensible part of my self but we all still think about that elusive Rolex. I think we all think we do , all us blokes left who still appreciate and love watches...

A beautiful chronograph

I’ve been looking for an automatic chronograph for a while now and this one beats all the competition in it’s price range in my opinion. The pictures really don’t do it justice.

The Le Jour Rally Monte-Carlo LJ-RMC-005 is an incredible automatic (mechanical) Swiss Made chronograph. Under the hood you'll find a trusty Sellita SW500 movement, but the other specifications are also as you'd expect from a Le Jour: flat sapphire glass with an AR coating, 100m water resistance and a high level of finishing. The bezel compliments the squared off shape of the case beautifully. With an understated 40mm diameter, 48mm lug-to-lug and a 14.5mm height the watch has pleasant wrist presence, while not losing any elegance and class. The stainless steel bracelet tapers beautifully from 22mm at the lugs to 18mm at the butterfly clasp, adding to the daily wearability.

The Le Jour Rally Monte-Carlo chronograph combines contemporary materials, quality and technology with an iconic design.
